quotes i wonder if a disc brake caliper sort of thing on each side of the post(smaller then used for bike brakes of course) would work, with also a skinny replaceable strip of steel attached to the flat part of the post where the pad would grab. mech or hydro

quotes thanks, i know the floating brake looks out of place, im going to try and make it fit the design better. but i think that the design really needs a floating brake to create a perfect suspension feel. i actually designed this frame by mapping out the wheel path i wanted(with chain growth and wheel base changes in mind) and basing the design on what would create the desired wheel path, which unfortunately also creates a fair amount of brake jack, thats why i added the floating brake.

quotes i do agree aluminum is alot easier to work with, im basing my designs on what i imagine to be the the best possible product with the best possible current technology (within an affordable cost range). I see carbon fibre being the next big construction material especially when tools for using it to make products become better and more available. I have been looking into carbon frame productions and it really doesnt seem that difficult, as long as you are accurate and plan it out well, i think ill be looking to make some prototypes next year while in university (3d modeling printer and cnc machines there to use)

quotes thanks, its not exactly to scale but yes the right side chain stay would be as low as possible to keep good chain clearance during suspension travel.

Sorry to bother, did you see my reply? I just wanted to let you know that my totem is 1 and 1/8th, not tapered.
